I draw everyday.

From a young age Damian Le Bas was showing artistic talent. “I started drawing football crowds when I was six,” he told The Observer in 2000. “I was fascinated by the patterns and colours.”

Whether it was pen, pencil, markers, biro, charcoal, Damian would use each instrument and draw on every imaginable surface, from note pads to cartons. He would sketch out ideas that would later contain the words and images in his larger opera.

This collection of Damian's drawings courtesy of Andrea Trapani at the Art Brut Gallery.
